More award-winning boats choose High Modulus

30th October 2006

Last week, two more boats which have benefited from High Modulus structural engineering services were announced winners at the International Superyacht Society Design Awards at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show. Adele, a 175ft ketch, and Ad Lib, a 131ft power yacht, were awarded Best Sailboat and Best Powerboat in their respective classes.

Designed by Hoek Naval Architects and built at Vitters Shipyard, Adele features a rig built by Marten Spars, the composite components of which were engineered by High Modulus. Both the masts and booms are of carbon fibre construction.

Ad Lib, designed by Dubois Yachts and built by Alloy Yachts, features a composite mast/flybridge bimini structure, engineered by High Modulus and built by Austral Yachts. The bimini is 6.8m long by 6m wide, and incorporates a 4.3m composite 'wing' structure, onto which the upper radar and communications domes are fixed.
